Hi everybody! Well we're home safe and sound. Back to reality now. So hard to get the girls up this morning. They know they're behind in school, and they are really tired. It was fun to go to the grocery store this morning and talk with Steve and Daisy and Woodie, the checkers there who have been excited for us. As promised, here are some links to news shows. The pics of me in the hat are somewhat mortifying, but hey, that hat was my friend all week :). What an incredible experience. I only know how tired we all were yesterday morning- most of the family slept in until 11 a.m., yet the President and Michelle were already up and in meetings and hosting other events AND had the staff ball to go to last night! Do presidents and first ladies ever get to sleep in? Hopefully on Saturdays.
I think you'll have to copy and paste these from the body of the blog. I'll put links to the side, too:

Ok, do you know what I didn't even realize while we were on stage with the President?!! I DID NOT EVEN KNOW that all those performers, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, Shakira, Mariah Carey, etc... were serenading us and playing while we were up there dancing! I was just so focused on being up there with Barack and Michelle that I didn't know it until I saw the video on MSNBC and YouTube. Ha! My knees were literally knocking. Of all the experiences we've had, that was the most nerve inducing! But what a blast.
Hannah is sending me the CD of her pics, and I've got others to upload today.
And Guantanamo is going to close!!! And Hillary is IN!!! Things are looking up.

welcome back!
ReplyDelete~and thanks again for sharing this experience with the blog-world...
Alicia, your blog link made it's way up to me in MN (via the mother/grandma email network). I'm a cousin of Anne S.; I grew up in KC (so if you guys have been friends for many years, perhaps we've met along the way. She's a first class/great person, so it makes sense that she would know some special people like you folks. Congrats to you and your family and thanks for sharing some of your experience.
ReplyDeleteBest regards,
Joe G.
